Three steps to losing a generation
1. As a child he sings, "For the Bible tells me so" and we say "how cute!" 2. As a teenager he says, "Why should I trust the Bible?" and we say "stop doubting and just believe!" 3. As a college student he says, "But how do I know what the Bible says is true?" and we say, "Because the Bible says so!" And we wonder why he stopped coming to church.
Agreed man. Apparently taking the time to meet with a student to help explain to them the truthfulness of Scripture is just to much to ask. The whole thing with the child singing is like how secular sociologist would like us to view church. They may believe the social aspects are beneficial, and all the programs are good for our mental and emotional health. However the church isn't about us. It's about the cornerstone, Jesus, and we gather because he has raised from the dead. We definitely need the grace of the Spirit to have God-centered churches.
